SONIC YOUTH

Doing this poster was one of those instances where working for your heroes turns out to be a nightmare. Not because of anything the band did, but because I put such high expectations upon the piece. I actually designed 12 different posters before I came up with this one that finally satisfied me. In many ways it summarizes my reaction to hearing Sonic Youth’s music for the first time.  

This poster was an early success with the simple red and blue color palette and the use of the overprint technique to create action and motion.
